About the Blogger
I’m Kate, the recipe developer, blogger and photographer behind Simply Savory by Kate. I am a self-trained chef who learned how to cook after health issues required me to make a major overhaul to my diet. Struggling to find recipes that were balanced and unrestrictive, I started making it up as she went along (a common theme in my life) and blogging to hold myself accountable to stick with my new healthy eating. Four years later, I’ve lost and kept off 30 pounds, no longer have health issues, love working out and feel amazing. Now I want to help you feel great and eat healthy without ever feeling deprived!
About the Food
When I started transforming my health I had a hard time finding balanced meals – everything fit into some sort of restrictive diet – vegan, paleo, gluten-free, grain-free, nut-free, flavor-free. I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t just eat whole, unprocessed, organic food in a balanced way. Since I couldn’t find that blog, I created it myself.
From my small Brooklyn kitchen, I strive to create recipes that are easy, flavorful, and healthy. Some have meat, some are vegan, some are gluten-free (many naturally) but I think you’ll find they’re all delicious.
